iRobot recently came up with the revolutionary idea of creating a self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner. iRobot Roomba i7+ is an upgraded and innovative version of the old Roombas that brings convenience and performance to a new level.
The latest iRobot Roomba i7 + not only can work with a house or apartment map, and distinguish between rooms, but is also able to recognize where the vacuum cleaner is and remember where it was. Moreover, thanks to Imprint™ Smart Mapping, it can determine the best way to clean the rooms.
The combination of iAdapt 3.0 navigation, with vSLAM position mappings, gives the vacuum cleaner the ability to navigate to the destination chosen by the user. The recent addition of Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support means that users can control the robot by voice (i.e. hands-free control). Using the Roomba mobile application, the owner can divide the floor plan of his house, or apartment, into different rooms, name them, and specify how often they should be cleaned. The vacuum cleaner then complies with the set method.
One of the things that robotic vacuum cleaners have to deal with is spilling waste collected from the container. Roomba i7 + can take care of itself in this regard. This version includes the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal dock, with a large waste bin, which needs to be emptied at substantially longer intervals. The robotic vacuum cleaner is able to interrupt the work when the container is full, take the waste to the collecting container, and then continue with cleaning. The dirt is then stored in disposable bags located in the base, that can hold up to 30 bins’ worth of dust. When the disposal bag is full, it informs the user of the mobile phone, through a notification in the application.
It also has ten times higher pick-up performance, and due to an altered brush system, that is continuously touching the floor (the front brush cuts off the dirt from the floor, the other lifts it), the cleaning is even more efficient.
